Whether you're a new resident in Desert Mountain, here year-round or only in residence in-season, the following friendly reminders will help make your time in Desert Mountain safe, enjoyable, relaxing or whatever you need it to be.
Walking and Jogging on the Roadways Because the safety of Desert Mountain residents - pedestrians and drivers alike - continues to be a primary objective of the Master Associsyion, walking or jogging on the main roadways at Desert Mountain is not allowed. Residents are encouraged to use the sidewalks adjacent to the roadways (along Desert Mountain Parkway and Desert Hills Drive) or the trails located in the community when walking, running or jogging.
We offer these helpful hints to keep in mind when you are out exercising in the community:
- Add the main gate number - 480-595-4338 - to your cell phone and bring it with you in case you need assistance
- Know your location in case assistance is necessary
- Bring plenty of water
- Beware of wildlife - snakes, javelina and coyotes - when you are outside
Desert Mountain Speed Limits
Residents are reminded that the posted speed limit on Desert Mountain Parkway is 35 MPH, on Desert Hills Drive, it is 25 MPH and on Village roads, it's 20 MPH. Please drive the posted speed limits and use caution as some of our residents run, walk and jog on the Desert Mountain roadways and deer, javelinas and other wildlife tend to roam on our streets, as well. Safety is everyone's concern and responsibility.
Leashing Your Pets
Residents are reminded that Desert Mountain Guidelines require all domestic pets to be on a leash in common areas at all times. Further, Maricopa County's leash law prohibits pet owners from allowing their dogs to run at-large outside their property at any time. For the safety of your pet, your neighbors, and visitors to Desert Mountain, your dog must be confined to your home or property. When you take your dog outside of its confined area, it must be restrained on a leash that is no longer than six feet in length, accompanied by you and under control at all times.
We encourage all pet owners to visit the new Dog Park, located adjacent to the Cochise/Geronimo Driving Range, where dogs are free to roam in a fenced area, while following the posted "Sparky's Park Rules." The Dog Park is open daily between 6:30am and 8:00am and 2:00pm and Sundown and Yappy Hour takes place Tuesdays and Thursdays between 4:00pm and 6:00pm. Please bring your pets for some socializng and roaming around fun!
Trash/Recycling Pick-Up Schedule
Desert Mountain residents have two containers on their property: black ones and mauve ones. The black containers are for regular garbage and are picked up in Desert Mountain on Tuesdays. Cans can be left on your curb on Monday evenings and must be replaced in your area after pick up on Tuesday.
The mauve cans are for materials to be recycled. These cans are picked up on Thursdays. Cans can be left on the curb on Wednesday and must be returned to your area after pick up on Thursday. All containers must be stored in an area that is not visible from other homes, lots and common areas.
e-Go Tags Get through the Desert Mountain gates faster with the new Owner e-Go tags. They cost only $25each and, while the tags automatically expire every two years from the issue date, there is no renewal fee for owner e-Go tags. Payment for e-Go tags is by cash, check or credit card.
A notification to renew your e-Go tag is automatically sent to homeowners who are in the HOA's email database a month before tags are due to expire. If you receive notice that your tag(s) are to expire or if your e-Go tag no longer opens Desert Mountain gates, simply call the HOA office at 480-595-4220 to reactivate your tags. Verify that you own the same vehicle(s) to renew your tags for another two years free of charge!
Note: If you are not listed in the HOA email database, simply send an email to Karen Angelo, Communications Director, at and she will add you to our distribution list.
Surepay If you are already using CCMC's Surepay assessment payment service, thank you. If you are not yet using Surepay, and are still paying your Owners Association fees by mail, please read on...
Why is Surepay a good idea? Because it is simple, efficient and effective. Since Surepay debits are automatic, there are no late or forgotten assessment payments - ever. It also reduces possible lost mail errors by the United States Postal Service and the amount of paper our bookkeepers must handle. It is a win/win scenario for everyone.
The Master Board strongly urges you to utilize Surepay to pay your assessments. Please help the association become more efficient by downloading the Surepay Form, completing it and mailing it to the HOA office with a cancelled check. Please call our office at 480-595-4218 if you have any questions when completing the form.
Know that we are always exploring ways within the Owners Association to serve you more effectively and efficiently. We will keep you posted of other developments, changes, and improvements as they occur.
Move-In Box Collection for New Residents This ONE-TIME new resident Move-in Box collection service is provided each Wednesday and new Desert Mountain residents must schedule this service in advance for the Wednesday of their choice. Please remember this is a ONE-TIME courtesy service.
Boxes must be flattened, completely empty and free of packing paper, plastic and trash! Because the boxes are taken to a recycling facility, any boxes that are not completely empty will not be picked up by our crews. Packing paper can be placed in bags and set out for pick-up during the monthly scheduled brush and bulk item collection.
Boxes must be placed curbside by 5:00AM the Wednesday they are scheduled for collection. They will be collected sometime during that Wednesday. |
