Master Board Focuses Projects and People in 2012

Building off the strong foundation built in 2011, the Desert Mountain Master Board has established and ratified a series of goals for 2012. Predominantly, these goals can be categorized in one of two ways. First, many of the goals are project-oriented. These projects will enhance the sustainability of the community by elevating our attractiveness to potential buyers. Our goals also focus on growing our base of dedicated and vested volunteers who graciously offer their time, expertise and excellent ideas to make Desert Mountain the community it is today.

I have heard from many of you on how much you are enjoying the Sunset Summit Trail, our newest community amenity. In 2012, the Master Association will continue trails fundraising and development as one of its goals. Please click on the following link to read the latest update on what is planned in terms of trail development on the Northern Properties. I hope you will consider contributing in some way so we can continue to build trails of varying levels of difficulty for our current residents and their guests, as well as future residents, to enjoy.

Plans are also in the works to develop a Desert Mountain Foundation, which is an excellent way to raise funds for projects right here in Desert Mountain. Master Board Vice Presidents Bob Borsch and Ann Melsheimer are hard at work doing the necessary research to get this off the ground and I am sure you will be reading more about this on this website and in upcoming issues of The Desert Mountain Connection.

As many of you know, while Desert Mountain is a gated community, we are not perimeter-secured. We are looking at a variety of options to further enhance security in the community; this is important, especially because Desert Mountain is a second home to many of our residents. Stay tuned to this website and upcoming issues of The Desert Mountain Connection to learn more about this topic.

As I mentioned above, these projects aren't the only things that make Desert Mountain unique. So does the contribution of time and great ideas from our volunteers. Through the recent Nominating and Election process, we were able to identify many new volunteers who are now serving on our Master Board and various Master Committees. They bring with them a host of new ideas that will certainly re-energize and re-vitalize the great work currently in progress. I am looking forward to hearing the suggestions, thoughts and opinions of these volunteers in 2012, as they work with their fellow committee and Board members to make this community even better than it is today.

There is much to look forward to in 2012 and much we will be asking your opinion about...be on the lookout for surveys from the Master Association on a full range of topics, including security, the Desert Mountain Owner Services Business, the Trails and much, much more.

We have a lot to accomplish this year and a lot of great people working with us to make it happen. Stay tuned.
